They couldn't see her until Monday and she was yelping, digging, shaking her head...obviously in pain! Of course they could squeeze her in for a $99 emergency fee. Called Handel With Care..took her right in. So caring and gentle. What a great staff and wonderful vet! Also when her meds fell out of the bag in the office, one of the staff members dropped it off at my house on her way home. Thank you so much for seeing Bella today! We have a new vet now for sure! Posted : 10/10/2011 Comments : I Just want to say that The Staff at Handel with care are wonderful. They take such great care of our Guinea Pigs every time we have had to bring them in. Dr. Handel is a wonderful Vet. He explains everything in such great detail and makes sure that we understand everything before he takes any action. I would not trust anyone else to care for our beloved Sophia & Sammie. The Staff are compassionate and understanding. Posted By :
Lois Posted : 9/25/2011 Comments : Concern, Care, Compassion.... Saying good bye to a beloved pet is a very difficult and confusing time. One thinks back to the months proceeding searching for comfort, this confort came to me in the form of the concern and care received at Handle With Care. I can not thank or praise Dr. Handle and his staff enough for the attention given to my beloved J Henry over this last year. They were always there for us, mornings, evenings,or weekends, J Henry's well being was their first concern. His health issue had been researched and the course of care discussed at length, during his treatment many follo up calls were made to see how he was doing. Last week he failed to respond to his treatment, the time had come to put his comfort first and say good bye. I was so touched as the techs on duty that morning took the time to come into the room to epress their sorrow and say good bye with me. Dr. Handle and his staff gave the up most concern and care, at the end I most appreciated their compassion. Thank you Posted By :

Posted : 8/10/2011 Comments : We now live in Florida and I really miss all the Handel with Care staff. Everyone at Handel with Care treats you and your pet as though you really matter. They take a real interest in you and always greet you in a friendly and receptive manner. Nothing is too much trouble. Dr. Handel's care of our pets will never be surpassed. He is thorough, takes the time to explain in a manner which you can understand, and gives options. I thoroughly recommend the entire Practice and wish I could move it to Florida! Posted By :

Testing and assessment is thorough, treatment recommendations are always effective, and they are always responsive to any crisis that may occur in my pets' health. Mark & Denise Labore Posted : 11/8/2008 Comments : Dr. Handel took care of our siberian huskies for almost eleven years. He always treated our dogs with care, us with respect, listened to our concerns, and was upfront about any situation or course of treatment that needed to be addressed. His diligence and attention to detail when routine blood work was performed on our older dog, led to the discovery of Rocky Mountain Fever, a disease transmitted by ticks. Although we check our dogs routinely for ticks, apparently one must have gotten through the radar. With no visible symptoms, we would have had no way of knowing our little guy was seriously ill until it was too late. After the prescribed course of antibiotics, our boy recovered completely. We believe Dr. Handel saved his life. We would also like to add that Dr. DeFanti did a wonderful job when our dog Deno needed to have an eyelid tumor surgically removed. The surgery was a complete success, and the remaining scar is scarcely visible. We have moved out of the area and are no longer able to go to Handel With Care Veterinary Hospital. However, we would recommend Dr. Handel to anyone who wants an outstanding veterinarian. We hold Dr. Handel and his staff in the highest regard and cannot thank them enough for all they've done for us and our dogs over the years.
